On December 10, 2025, Sarita Prabhakar passed away peacefully at the age of 77 years, following a long and courageous battle with kidney disease caused by scleroderma.
She is survived by her loving family: her son, Sandeep (Lynn), her daughter, Vinisha Smart, and her cherished grandchildren, Nevaeh and Sahana Prabhakar, and Isla Smart.
Sarita will be sadly missed by her extended family, her many close friends, and acquaintances for her indelible spirit, positive attitude, and her loving and accepting nature for the many lives she touched over the course of her life with love and compassion for all.
The family is planning to host a Celebration of Life for Sarita in early 2026.

My deepest Condolences. To Sandeep n. Family,, To Vinisha n Family. Sarita's Sister n the rest of the family A true friend n never to be forgotten. We did so many trips together n so much fun was had n many memories where made. Our children grew up together, n more memories where made. We shall miss Sarita in many ways . Sarita is in her forever home,, waiting for the rest of us to join her. May you rest in peace n be pain- free for always. Our GOD is a true God n will never leave us no matter where we are.
